Suzaku
A moment to unwind in the city.
Wazake to Yakitori Sujaku in Minami-Otsuka serves yakitori skewers, including liver and chicken hearts, alongside Japanese sake. The menu also features a three-sake tasting and small dishes for a relaxed dinner.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Wazake to Yakitori Sujaku serves yakitori and Japanese sake in a relaxed setting. The skewer selection ranges from hearts, gizzards and liver to seseri, chicken wings and house-made tsukune. Vegetable skewers such as shiitake mushrooms and long onions are also available; if choosing is difficult, the six-skewer assortment is one option.
As the name suggests, Japanese sake is another of the restaurant's main attractions. The menu includes a tasting of three of the day's sakes, an easy way to explore different flavours. Diners can also share their preferences and enjoy having a sake suggested to go with that day's dishes. Small plates to accompany drinks include seared heshiko, cucumber with ume suisho, and an assortment of two kinds of satsuma-age. To finish the meal, there is grilled rice-ball ochazuke or chicken soboro tantan somen.
Upstairs on the second floor of a building, the compact dining room has counter and table seating. It can suit a quiet evening over drinks alone or dinner spent talking with someone close; reservations are accepted.
